About Us

   Mathraki resort started operating in 1979 with a small unit of 2 apartments. Owners George and Maria Argyros were in New York, working in Manhattan restaurants and dinners. When they returned to Corfu they had one thing in mind: to create a job that would keep them there for good. In 1990, after building 12 more apartments, they made a career change. One more mini hotel, a swimming pool and a mill completed a beautiful holiday resort. The addition of a small tavern brought them back to their old job: cooking. The menu includes local and international dishes prepared home-style as they would serve for their own family. Speaking of family, sons Nikos and Dimitris also work for the family business. The name 'Mathraki' comes from a little island North-West of Corfu. It is a small paradise with a population of 80 to 100 people and home of the Argyros family.
