Gouvia Village

Gouvia is a located about 8km from Corfu Town. From April to October the taverns, bars, stores, hotels and apartments bring live into this village. The beach was only created in 1981 and gives a stunning view over the bay of Gouvia. Sun beds and umbrellas can be rented to enjoy a day in the sun and from here daily boat trips depart as well. South East of the village you will find the Gouvia Marina. It’s the first privately owned marina in Greece and can hold 1235 ships. Its operating all year round and is definitely worth a visit. You can gaze over the amazing boats and enjoy the view while drinking a coffee, beer or glass of wine at one of the cafes. Corfu was a great strategic location for the Venetians during their reign, that lasted 400 years. A Venetian shipyard was build in Gouvia in the 18th century and its remains are still standing today.
