"After our original choice decided not to open, we booked Mathraki resort. We are so glad we did. The Argyros family have been so welcoming and hospitable. George with his tales of New York, Maria keeping everyone fed, Dimitri with his fabulous cocktails and Nicos, the Uno demon! The apartment is modern and clean with plenty of storage. All apartments are set in the most beautiful gardens with a lovely pool area. No hassle with sunbeds, plenty for all. Gouvia was quieter than usual but must of our favourite places were open. Definitely recommended and will come again.

"We stayed at Mathraki resort in the maisonette - fantastic spacious option for accommodation for 4-6 people and extremely modern - we stayed in a group of 6 (4 adults and 2 children). This is a family run resort with the team providing an unbelievable service - nothing is too much trouble and all very laid back and has a real family feel - excellent pool for the kids and you have an option of some lovely food at the resort or even just a 5 minute walk away to the local Gouvia restaurants.

"Everything was perfect, room fantastic, nice food, big and clean pool, great location, fast internet. The stuff is very helpful and can give you all the valid information and arrange transport from the airport. It is far enough from busy road yet you can come easily with public transport to many nice placec in Corfu.

"This is a great family hotel with amazingly friendly service and staff, instead of tracing into the town we eat and we're entertained every night but George and his family. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Gouvia, Corfu the food is excellent and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

"My Husband and I stayed at Mathraki Resort for two week in August 2016, as we where getting married in Corfu.
I had been in contact with Niko for several months prior to or visit as he helped me book room and transfers to and from the airport for are wedding guest. When we arrived the welcoming that we got was so lovely I felt like I was staying with family. made to feel very special.
George got us a welcome drink and showed us to our room and explained everything very well. we stayed in an apartment which was a great size, well equipped kitchen, TV, safe and the air conditioner was great. the apartment was extremely clean. if booking consider booking THE MILL its a lovely apartment our friends stayed in it.Pool area and grounds around the Resort are also extremely clean and tidy, relaxing environment, lovely gardens and children's play area.The Resort is well located 5-10 minutes walk from Gouvia village and beach.2 minute walk to the nearest mini market.
and bus stop just at the end of the road again 2-3 minute walk.The food in Mathraki Resort Tavern is fantastic. I highly recommend a George burger and waffles for desert.Good selection of drinks and cocktail.
DONT MISS OUT on a Greek night its great nights entertainment and lovely food.
The family work very hard to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. no request is to much for them. extremely helpful with any request.
A special Thank you to Niko for all the help with helping us with the wedding planning requests, booking buses and water park tickets etc etc the list goes on. ;-) Thanks to all the family and staff for such a marvellous time. Best resort I've been to so far.

"At first, we were a bit sceptical to the hotel, being a bit far from the beach and city centre and all - but that turned out to be the things we appreciated the most during our week here.
Instead of discomusic, salesmen and a lot of other tourists noise, we fell asleep listening to silence, and woke up in the morning to the sound of a couple of roosters (!)
The Argyros family who runs the place, are the most welcoming, friendly and nice people you'll ever meet, and they're always there for you, no matter when it is.
They prepare delicious, homemade food in their restaurant, and one night, when my son ordered one of Georges famous burgers, the son of the family ran down to the butcher next door to buy fresh meat.
The other guests were about 80 % dutch, quiet familypeople, so theres peace and quiet in and around the poolarea, not once did we need to fight for a sunbed.
We also want to give our regards to Maria, who runs a little supermarket down the street, a very nice and friendly lady :-)
So thank you to the Argyros family for a pleasant stay - we would love to come back! :-)"

"For a low budget, self-catering holiday at the end of summer, this turned out to be a really delightful find. It has a fabulous pool (photos don't do justice to it) and the freshly cooked food in the Taverna was absolutely delicious so plans to eat out at different places in the evening went to pot! The accommodation was simple but spotlessly clean and had everything we required. It had functional elements that are often missing in more luxurious (and expensive) apartments - eg electric plugs near a well lit mirror, hooks in the bathroom, mosquito netting over the window etc. Being a small resort, the family owners were very welcoming without being at all intrusive and the cleaning staff were also great. On the day we arrived we were able to partake in a Greek themed meal which had everyone sitting together and enjoying fab food, music and skilful dancing by Nicos and his lovely wife. All in all, this turned out to be a really lovely place for a quiet, sunny break and would definitely return and probably stay for 2 weeks next time.

"The resort is spotless, lovely pool area and very , well kept , pretty gardens . Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The meals were tasty and breakfast really good with lots of choice,
Perfect location, only 10 mins walk to beach and restaurants. Our studio was clean and comfortable, with a lovely view of the gardens , the only thing we missed was a toaster but not such a problem. We had a most enjoyable time, and hopefully return again. A big thank you to all the Mathraki Resort team!

"Me and my fiancé had the most amazing week here. Our whole experience from start to finish was perfect. The food is excellent and you couldn't ask for a nicer staff. You are made feel like a friend, not a customer. Would recommend to anybody! We will definitely be back.

"This Family run resort is comfortable and the staff are very helpful. Our room was ready just after 12pm as they had contacted us to ask what time we were hoping to arrive. Lovely clean pool with plenty of shady areas, pretty gardens and Tavern area. Definitely recommend to anyone wishing to visit Corfu Town on a budget as the bus stop was only 5 minutes from the resort. Buses ran every half an hour. Will be back again.

"My son and I are so impressed with this family run venture. Nothing is too much trouble and it is spotless in addition to really feeling like home from home. No bookings required for meals and we have had breakfast, lunch and an evening meal. My son is now a fan of the George burger and the ice cream! There is a little walk to the village and beach but there is a fab little supermarket just moments away so we have rarely needed to leave! The little apartment is really good and we would love to come back with the rest of the family :)
